CTHS TEAMS TAKE FIRST AND THIRD PLACE AT PROSTART ALASKA
Alaska CHARR hosted the 2017 Alaska ProStart Invitational at UAA Lucy Cuddy Hall. "This is a two-day culintary and hospitality management competition," reported Hannah Frost, ProStart Coordinator. "(There are) teams and judges from all ove rthe state of Alaska!" Culinary teams prepare a three-course meal from scratch in only 60 minutes--with no running water and no electricity. The food is presented to a panel of judges for final determinations, much like the television show "Chopped."
Mat-Su Career & Technical High School had two competing teams and they took first and third place in the Invitational. The first place team will represent Alaska at the National ProStart Invitational held in Charleston, South Carolina, in April. Watch for results from these amazing young chefs!
