Business Pathway Certifications

I am thrilled to announce that 11 students earned third-party certifications during the 2014-2015 school year in my classes. They now have joined the other 115 students who earned third-party certifications during previous years. I’m pleased to share the following information with you.
 
IC3, or the Internet and Computing Core Certification program, is a global training and certification program. With IC3 Certification, you are instantly recognized as someone with the critical entry-level skills needed to use the latest computer and Internet technology effectively.There are three exams that you have to pass for your IC3 Certification:

Adobe Certified Associate (or ACA) Certification is the unsurpassed way to demonstrate expertise in Web Design, Visual and Print Design, and Digital Video. With ACA, Adobe offers multiple options for students to validate their digital media skills. There are four different ACA certifications:

iCritical Thinking™Certification is the only certification program based on a globally defined digital literacy framework that allows you to demonstrate the ability to think critically within technology-enabled academic and workplace environments.Unfortunately, this third-party certification is no longer available through Certiport so we are unable to offer it here at CTHS. Brandon Williams passes A+ Essentials Exam
Brandon Williams reports that he passed the third party certification A+ Essentials Exam on July 18, 2012. He took A+ and N+ at Mat Su Career and Technical High School during the 2011-2012 school year. Brandon attributes his success to the rigorous and relevant curriculum in these classes. He refreshed his skills and knowledge at the beginning of the summer with the OnlineExpert Learn Key course that was made available with the use of Carl Perkins funding. He was confident going into the exam because of his focused learning. Brandon is preparing to take the Practical Applications portion of the A+ certification. Congratulations and good luck, Brandon! 
 
 
 
Mark Simon
 
 
Mark Simon is the first business pathway student to take and pass the iCritical Thinking exam.
The iCritical Thinking exam is offered by ETS (Educational Testing Service). This exam allows students, teachers, employers and employees to validate their ability not just to use technology but to apply critical thinking such as the ability to analyze, evaluate and apply information to use technology in a way that is relevant, appropriate and effective in both academic and corporate environments. Simply put, these skills are essential for success in both school and work. Mark Simon is the first business pathway student to take and pass the iCritical Thinking exam. Congratulations, Mark!

Gregory Bultron is awarded tuition waiver scholarship!
Mat-Su Career and Technical High School’s BPA Chapter is pleased to announce that Gregory Bultron has been awarded the Matanuska-Susitna College’s 2010 Alaska Career and Technical Student Organization Performance-Based Assessment Conference Scholarship. This award entitles Gregory to a tuition waiver of twelve (12) credit hours per semester for the 2010-11 academic year at Matanuska-Susitna College. Congratulations, Gregory!
