I would like to take a minute to update you on our upcoming Activation schedule and the Borough’s road construction project in front of Colony High School. Currently parking at Colony High School and Colony Middle School is not available . . . due to road construction on Bogard Road and both schools’ parking lots.
At this time, the Borough’s construction crew is working diligently on the project and doing everything they can to meet their deadlines. Additionally, the Borough is being sensitive and supportive to our needs at Colony High School. Consequently, the construction project and parking limitations are a temporary setback, which will have the added bonus of expanded parking at both schools and several increased safety measures for our student body and community.
As a result, the Mat-Su Borough School District will be providing two shuttle buses during Colony High School’s Activation Week. The shuttle buses will be located at Pioneer Peak Elementary School; the first shuttle will depart Pioneer Peak Elementary at 7:30 am and the last shuttle will leave Colony High School at 2:35 pm. The shuttle buses will leave Pioneer Peak Elementary every 10 minutes. Thus, all students and parents who plan to attend activation must park at Pioneer Peak Elementary to catch the shuttle
Moreover, Activation for Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshman starts on August 3rd and runs through August 6th. Activation for new students will start on the following week and will not require shuttle buses--due to the availability of parking at Colony High School. During Activation students will receive their schedules, lockers, and planners. Please review our Activation dates and times as follows:
Class Date Time Transportation
Seniors August 3rd 7:45am-2:30pm (shuttle bus)
All (evening hrs) August 4th 5:00pm - 7:00pm (shuttle bus)
Sophomores August 5th 7:45am-2:30pm (shuttle bus)
Freshmen August 6th 7:45am-2:30pm (shuttle bus)
New Students August 7th 8:00am-1:30pm (shuttle bus)
