High School Athletic Eligibility Information
The Mat-Su Borough School District has recently changed the regulations for extracurricular and co-curricular eligibility. In the past, eligibility was only checked at the end of the semester. Starting this fall, eligibility will be checked at the end of first and third quarter as well as at the end of first and second semester. Students will need to maintain a 2.0 GPA during quarter or trimester academic periods. This change allows students more opportunities to earn the minimum GPA required to participate.

Students will still need to comply with existing AASA regulations requiring passing grades in at least five classes during the previous semester. For a complete description of academic eligibility please see BP 6145 and AR 6145.2

More information about eligibility can be found in the Co-Curricular Handbook, Page 24.

ASAA eligibility rules can found on the ASAA website.
